The science of self-realization involves identifying one with the soul and not the body. After one can understand his/her identity as a soul, the next step is to understand the origin. Our existence finds its origin from The Supreme Lord Krishna, The Father of all living entities.
It should be understood that all species of life, O son of Kuntī, are made possible by birth in
this material nature, and that I am the seed-giving father. (Bhagavad-gītā 14.4, Translation)
The Lord's Spiritual body is made up of Sat-Cit-Ananda therefore we tend to search for eternity, bliss and knowledge in this temporary world. The reason we don't find real bliss in this material world is also stated by Krishna. Everything in this material world is a perverted reflection of the Spiritual world (urdhva mulam).
The Supreme Lord said: There is a banyan tree which has its roots upward and its branches down, and the Vedic hymns are its leaves. One who knows this tree is the knower of the Vedas. (Bhagavad-gītā 15.1, Translation)
Therefore, love exists in the Spiritual world whereas its perverted reflection, lust exists here. When one comes to this understanding that there is no such thing as real love here in this material world and only His actual father Krishna loves him truly then by the mercy of Krishna He is given a chance to utilise the human form of life to serve Krishna and go back home, back to Godhead.
One who is free from illusion, false prestige, and false association, who understands the eternal, who is done with material lust and is freed from the duality of happiness and distress, and who knows how to surrender unto the Supreme Person, attains to that eternal kingdom. (Bhagavad-gītā 15.5, Translation)
After reaching Goloka, he/she will never have to return to this miserable place and get entagled in the perplexities. The Lord's planet is beyond the material world where the real love, happiness, bliss exists. There is no past, present or future, the time is eternal in Goloka. It is illumined with The Lord's effulgence. There are numerous Kalpavrikshas (desire trees) which fulfills the desires of The Lord and His devotees.
That abode of Mine is not illumined by the sun or moon, nor by electricity. One who reaches it never returns to this material world. (Bhagavad-gītā 15.6, Translation)
Such descriptions are told by Krishna in The Bhagavad-gita to attract us and call us back to our eternal father, Krishna.
