The Sublime Essence of the Lotus Feet of Sri Sri Radha Krishna.jpeg

Śaraṇaṁ Vraja is Manjari Swarup Sadhana

sarva-dharmān parityajya

mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja

The Scene in Vraja and the Service of the Manjaris

This verse describes a divine, spiritual meditation practiced in advanced rāgānugā-bhakti, where a devotee contemplates serving Śrī Śrī Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa in their eternal Vraja-līlā.

It is a form of internal meditation (mānasa-sevā), not a physical event.

1. Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa in the Kunja

In the spiritual land of Vraja, near Gupta Kuṇḍa, there is a beautiful grove called Aśokanandadā Kuñja.

There, Śrī Rādhā and Śyāma are absorbed in loving pastimes—not physical, but pure spiritual exchanges of prema-rasa.

The sakhīs and mañjarīs lovingly watch from outside the kuñja, experiencing waves of bliss just by seeing the divine couple’s joy.

2. The Yugala Come to the Yogapīṭha

After Their intimate loving meeting (which is purely spiritual), Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa walk out and stand together in the central lotus of the Yogapīṭha, a divine jeweled temple that shines brighter than suns and cooler than moons.

This Yogapīṭha is the sacred gathering place where:

• Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa stand on an eight-petaled lotus throne

• Their main eight sakhīs stand around Them

• Surrounding them are more sakhīs, mañjarīs, and divine attendants

This describes the eternal spiritual arrangement of Vraja-līlā.

3. The Arrangement of Sakhīs and Mañjarīs

In a circle around Radha Krishna:

• the Aṣṭa-sakhīs (Lalitā, Viśākhā, Citrā, etc.)

• the secondary sakhīs

• the eight principal mañjarīs, headed by Rūpa Mañjarī

• various divine gatekeepers like Vṛndā-devī

• and the guru-paramparā in their mañjarī forms

All are positioned in a perfect lotus formation around Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa.

This expresses how the entire spiritual world is arranged for seva, not for enjoyment.

4. The Role of the Sādhaka-Mañjarī

The practitioner (sādhaka) is as a mañjarī, a young assistant of the sakhīs, under the guidance of their Gurudevī (who is also a mañjarī in spiritual identity).

The sādhaka prepares trays filled with:

• tulasī leaves

• flowers

• sandalwood paste

• incense

• lamps

Everything needed for worship (pūjā).

She gives one tray to her Gurudevī, who offers worship to:

• Kṛṣṇa

• Rādhārāṇī

• the sakhīs and mañjarīs

Then she gives the prasāda back to the sādhaka-mañjarī.

5. The Sādhaka’s Personal Service

With utmost humility, the sādhaka-mañjarī:

1. Offers tulasī, flowers, and sandal paste at Kṛṣṇa’s feet

2. Then at Rādhārāṇī’s feet

3. Then distributes this Yugala-prasāda to all the sakhīs, mañjarīs, gatekeepers, and guru-paramparā

This is done exactly in the above order.

After this, the mañjarī performs ārati for the divine couple and Their associates.

She then stands again at the side of her Guru Mañjarī, waiting for further service.

6. The Principle of Yogapīṭha-Smarana

The sādhaka should:

• daily meditate on serving in this Yogapīṭha

• remember their mantra and gāyatrī within this scene

• and not begin the day even with drinking water before performing this internal worship

This is the essence of rāgānugā-bhakti’s internal smaraṇa, as taught by the Gosvāmīs.

7. The Three Yogapīṭhas

Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa have three daily Yogapīṭha gatherings:

In Vraja (Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa)

• Morning at Gupta Kuṇḍa

• Noon at Rādhā-kuṇḍa

• Night at Govinda Sthālī

These are moments of meeting and worship.

8. Evening Service

After the Yogapīṭha rituals, Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa return to Nandīśvara to rest.

The sādhaka-mañjarī, under the order of her Guru Mañjarī, massages Śrī Rādhārāṇī’s lotus feet, helping Her blissfully fall asleep.

This is one of the mañjarīs’ most cherished forms of service.

In Summary —

This entire passage describes:

• the spiritual world of Vraja

• the positions of Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa’s intimate associates

• the sacred Yogapīṭha worship

• and the internal service meditation of a rāgānugā sādhaka

It is not material, not physical, and has no biological meaning.

Everything is aprakṛta—transcendental, made of pure consciousness and prema.

The goal is to:

Remember the divine couple.

Mentally serve Them under the guidance of the mañjarīs.

Offer worship and ārati.

Absorb the mind in Their eternal Vraja-līlā.

This is the heart of mānasa-sevā taught by the Gosvāmīs.

Everything described is spiritual, transcendental, and takes place in the realm of bhāva and prema.
